Following 14 years in various technical and managerial roles in the Oil and Gas industry, she joined the Nordic Unmanned Group in September 2021.
Kristin is currently the CEO of NUAer; a joint venture between Nordic Unmanned and Aeromon, which purpose is to accelerate the green shift in the maritime sector through use of sniffer drones.

As co-founder and CEO of Braid Theory, a vertically integrated venture advisory, Ms. Carpenter is responsible for strategic partnership building with ports, public agencies, and private industry. She serves on the Boards of Directors of Smart Freight Centre and Ocean Exchange to further initiatives towards efficient and zero emissions global freight and logistics, and sustainable ocean solutions. Her civic appointments include Chief Innovation Officer of the City of Los Angeles, Council District 15; and Commissioner of the County of Los Angeles Small Business Commission.

AAPO CEDERBERG is currently the acting CEO of Cyberwatch Finland. He is also an Associate Fellow at Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). He joined GCSP in October 2013 as Senior Advisor in the Emerging Security Challenges Programme. He has been the Secretary General within the Finnish Ministry of Defence overlooking the Security and Defence Committee since 2007. He was the Head of Strategic Planning in the Ministry and has also held various positions including Commander of the Häme GBAD Battalion, Permanent Mission of Finland to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Head of Arms Control Section and Air Defence officer at South Finland Military Area. He has unique understanding of cyber-security and the complexities of hybrid warfare, interdependencies and threats. Cederberg is also an experienced cyber security strategist and advocate both in Finland and internationally. He is also one of the authors of the first Finnish Cyber Security Strategy.

As Director of Sustainability, LINDEN COPPELL aims to ensure that MSC Cruises grows in a sustainable way. In this role, Linden works in collaboration with numerous internal and external partners. She established the Executive Chairman-led Sustainable Advisory Board, responsible for approving actions to meet the sustainability goals of the business and ensuring sustainability is embedded across the entire organisation. Linden has a solid background in environmental protection and sustainability, with experience both as a consultant and in the corporate environment. As a consultant this included working on many diverse projects in Hong Kong and the South East Asia region, including the implementation of environmental management systems and developing environmental and sustainability reporting regimes for government and non-government clients. She joined Cathay Pacific as the Manager Environmental Affairs in 2003 and in 2009 took up a position at Etihad Airways, initially as Head of Environment and then as Head of Sustainability for the Etihad Aviation Group. Linden led several successful projects including instigating the voluntary carbon offset program ‘Fly Greener’ at Cathay Pacific and leading the drive towards sustainable alternative fuels at Etihad. The latter including facilitating the longest flight using alternative fuels into the Middle East in 2014 and then enabling a flight powered using sustainable biomass grown and refined into jet fuel in the UAE, a first for the region.

By combining maritime knowledge with a broad economic insight through his Master Mariner, M.Sc. Economics and MBA studies and by applying a systematic vertical, horizontal and functional job rotation, he has gained a deep understanding of the real key drivers in the shipping business and gained a good understanding of the fundamental business opportunities and risks. Mr Doepel has been a member of the Executive Committee at Finnlines since 2013 and took on the position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from beginning of 2020 in Finnlines.

NICOLAS DUCHENE is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) & VP Technical of Verifavia and leader of technical team when it comes to EU MRV, IMO DCS (2000+ ships every year), EEXI / CII as well as IT system certification services. He developed extensive experience in the field of independent verification under the ISO 14065 norm and is an approved EU MRV and IMO DCS lead auditor, as well as an Hazmat expert. He is responsible for the maintenance of the accreditations delivered to Verifavia by COFRAC, UKAS and SAC as well as for the continuous development of innovative tools, methods and processes used by shipping auditors to deliver high quality output.

He has been reporting on and discussing the transformation of the shipping industry for a number of years. He has been covering the regulatory framework, technological developments and social and environmental impact of shipping for 15 years. Craig is editorial director of Fathom World, a leading provider of news and information relating to the changes in the maritime sector. He is one of the leading and highly respected journalists in the global maritime industries and has achieved exceptional engagement with his breadth and depth of understanding with a particular focus on the operational, technical, human element, and regulatory trends that are driving change. Formerly Deputy Editor of Lloyd’s List, Craig started his career at sea serving as a navigation officer for 10 years, working on a range of vessel types, though mostly oil tankers and gas carriers.

He actively participates in the coordination of ALIS CHANNEL, the first Italian web television for transport and logistics. Representing ALIS, he is a member of the Regional Council for Trucking and Logistics of the Sicily Region and of the Steering Committee of the ITS Sustainable Mobility Transport Foundation of Catania (Sicily). After graduating she started in DNV where she has held several positions from Approval engineer, technical support and surveyor. For the past 12 years she has been in various management positions in Norway, Singapore and Finland. She has been Regional Manager for DNV GL Maritime North Europe since 2019, overseeing the maritime operations and advisory deliveries in 15 countries with a team of 600 people.

NORA HAAPALA is an attorney-at-law who works since 2011 for an international advisory firm Rödl & Partner. She has extensive background in transportation law, currently working on a report on the interpretation of the CMR treaty in the Czech Republic. Her qualifications include also advising on corporate law and compliance procedures, with specialization in intellectual property law (including SaaS and licensing agreements). Apart from having degree in Law and jurisprudence from one of the most prestigious universities in the Central Europe – Charles University in Prague, she deepend her legal skills also while studying at Heinrich Heine Universität in Germany. Haverinen is leading the Power2AX project by Flexens, in which one of the diesel ferries in the Åland archipelago is planned to be replaced with a zero-emission fuel cell ferry. He has more than 7-year experience with hydrogen technologies and investment projects aiming to implement renewable fuel production.

PETER KIROV is Head of Department Digital Services and Simplification as of 1.10.2020. Mr. Kirov held different management positions in the Bulgarian Maritime Administration (BMA) where he gradually developed his career starting as Legal Advisor and having served as Secretary General just before joining EMSA. As Secretary General of the BMA he managed the development of integrated information system for command and control of emergency response operations, the development of integrated Bulgarian maritime surveillance in the context of CISE, the introduction of the e-government concept in the work of the Bulgarian Maritime Administration and the introduction of ISO 27001 in the work of the administration.Mr. Kirov has been an Alternate Member of the Administrative Board of EMSA since 2009. He was member of the High Level Steering Group for Digital Maritime Services and the Committee on Safety of Shipping and prevention of Pollution by Ships since 2007.

FRANK KHO, an independent advisor active in the container logistic and terminal industry since 2018. He has more than 30 years’ experience in this industry across the globe. His career includes 20+ year in several senior management positions in Asia and Europe with PSA and HPH, 2 of the leading global terminal operators. Recently he has been appointed as the CEO of the new TIC 4.0 Association (Terminal Industry Committee 4.0), supported by FEPORT and PEMA, developing standards for the terminal industry. Mr Kho has an excellent track record in managing and leading several container terminals across the globe, including HIT in Hongkong and PSA Antwerp. He has a Master degree in Control Engineering/Avionics and is also an ICF-trained Professional Coach (certification is pending).

ALAN KLANAC is a shipowner, entrepreneur and assistant professor with 20 years of working experience in both shipping and shipbuilding industries. Between 2013 to 2017, served as president of the management board and CEO of Jadrolinija, Croatia’s national passenger shipping operator with a fleet of 50 ferries. Co-founder of maritime technology development company as2con-alveus ltd in 2005. 2002 to 2009 employed as researcher in maritime technology at the Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland, where he in 2011 obtained Doctor of Science degree. Lectured internationally and published in scientific journals. Extensive experience in EU-funded projects. From 2014 to 2018 served as board member of Interferry, world-wide passenger shipping association. President of Interferry 2016-2017. From 2014 till today member of DNV Ferry Committee, consultative committee for DNV classification society. TERO KOSONEN is the Managing Director of Rauanheimo since 1.6.2021. Prior to joining Rauanheimo Tero Kosonen worked at VR Group Oy, where he has held various positions since 2001. In his latest role as Vice President for Sales and Marketing, he was responsible for the VR Transpoint center for customer service and sales within rail logistics. In his previous positions at VR Group he has worked as Head of Planning where he lead the planning activities of the rail logistics, as well as Head of Production where he was responsible for the nationwide production of rail logistics. Previously during his career he has also been responsible for the development of the wagon fleet and for the ramp up of several new customer relations and concepts. Furthermore, she is specialised in marketing and communication. ANNA KUNNAS works as a Technical Account Manager at Neste Oyj. Anna serves Neste’s customers when it comes to technical aspects of marine fuels globally and traffic fuels in Scandinavia. Before joining Neste Anna has been involved in developing catalytic exhaust after treatment systems for medium speed engines and catalytic fuel conditioning of fuel cell systems. MIKA LAURILEHTO, Chief Sales Officer, Rauma Marine Constructions graduated as M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and has since been working for 30 years in the international marine industry. During those years he has held several managerial positions in various areas of shipbuilding in different companies in Finland and Germany. He started at RMC one year ago and is responsible for the sales and concept development activities focussing heavily on providing novel solutions combining high performance with low environmental impact for ship owners and operators.

OSKAR LEVANDER is SVP Business Concepts at Kongsberg Maritime, a world leader in marine technology with an extensive portfolio of innovative and integrated products and solutions for the marine industry. Oskar joined Kongsberg with the acquisition of Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine, where he held a similar position as SVP Concepts & Innovation. He joined Rolls-Royce in 2012 from Wärtsilä, where he spent the earlier part of his career after graduating from Helsinki University of Technology in 2000, with an MSc in Naval Architecture. Oskar has been driving the development of novel ship and propulsion concepts and has pioneered many emerging marine technologies. Today he spearheads the development of environmentally sound concepts and innovative intelligent ship solutions, including the introduction of remote & autonomous ships. He was nominated as the #1 Technology Leader by Lloyds List in 2017.

BLASCO MAJORANA works as a Liner Manager at Finnlines. With more than 13 years’ experience in the shipping sector, he has developed competences in fleet management, liner service configuration and asset optimisation. TEEMU MANDERBACKA is Sustainable Shipping Research Team Leader at VTT. His interest is to enable Safe and Energy Efficient Maritime Transportation through technological improvements. He holds Doctor of Science degree in Maritime Hydrodynamics obtained at Aalto university. He has strong background in Naval Architecture, especially on hydrodynamics, enhanced with practical experience both on experimental research and on software services to ship owners and operators. Teemu has worked at TKK (nowadays Aalto University) as Laboratory Manager at the Multifunctional Seakeeping and Ice Model Basin performing ship model tests on ice going vessels performance. Prior to joining VTT, he worked at NAPA Shipping Solutions as Lead R&D Engineer developing and evaluating methods for the assessment of ship technical performance and energy efficiency.

ALAN McKINNON is Professor of Logistics in Kühne Logistics University, Hamburg and Professor Emeritus at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He has been researching and teaching in freight transport / logistics for 42 years and has published widely in journals and books on many different aspects of the subject. Much of his research has focused on the relationship between logistics and climate change. He has been an adviser to several governments, parliamentary committees and international organisations, including the International Transport Forum/OECD, the World Bank, European Commission, World Economic Forum and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In 2018 he published a book on ‘Decarbonizing Logistics’.

SANDRO MENDONCA is an economist and he has a PhD on maritime innovation. He has published on technological transition in ship design. Mendonca is now pursuing a scoping piece on seaport innovation. He has also been involved in training and evaluations for industrial players, shipowners, producers of variegated gear, etc. Since three years Mendonca has been serving as a Member of the Board of the Portuguese national regulatory authority on communications (it covers telecoms, postal, digital, satellites, etc.).

Dr ANTONIS MICHAIL is an engineer in background with 18 years of professional experience on port sustainability management. In 2018, Antonis joined the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) as Technical Director of its Policy and Strategy Unit and its World Ports Sustainability Program (WPSP). As such, Antonis coordinates the work of the IAPH Technical Committees on Climate and Energy, Risk and Resilience and Data Collaboration and supervises all initiatives under the WPSP umbrella. Before joining IAPH, Antonis worked for 8 years as Senior Policy Advisor on sustainability and safety matters at the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO). Since 2003, Antonis has been involved in the EcoPorts network of ports from various posts, including managing projects and coordinating the network’s activities and development until 2017.

ESKO MUSTAMÄKI has a long and wide experience in shipbuilding and maritime industry. He worked as a Managing Director for Arctech Helsinki Shipyard 4/2011 - 12/2018. Arctech Helsinki Shipyard was founded in 2010 specialized in building icebreakers and other Arctic offshore and special vessels. Today he is the Member of the Board of Directors of the Helsinki Shipyard. Prior joining Arctech Helsinki Shipyard he was employed by Wärtsilä Marine in 1980 and after that he has been employed by F-G Shipping Inc., Finnlines Plc, Finstaship and SET-Group Ltd. Mustamäki graduated from Helsinki University of Technology in 1984 with MSc in Engineering and Shipbuilding and he has held several management level positions within the maritime sector.

MARKKU MYLLY has a long experience in the maritime sector since 1973. He was sailing in Finnish merchants ships until 1987, when he joined Finnish Maritime Administration. He worked in FMA until 2010 and he was the 10th and last Director General of FMA. In 2010 he moved to Finnish Port Association and worked there as a CEO until joined EMSA in 2012 September. He was the Executive Director of European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon, Portugal 2012-2018. Mr Mylly collaborated a lot at international level ever since he joined FMA and he was responsible for many EU Twinning projects during years 2002 – 2010 in Estonia, Croatia and Bulgaria. He also participated the work of IMO (International Maritime organisation) IALA (International Association of Lighthouse Authorities) and ESPO (European Seaports Organisation).

MARKKU MÄKIPERE, CEO, Stevena, (M.Sc. Economics) has worked for the company since year 1997. He also serves as a managing director of Moonway Oy, which is a container operator. Besides those positions he is a Member of the Management Team of KWH Logistics (previously Backman-Trummer group). Before current positions he worked as a Managing Director at a German-owned forwarding company Herbst Finland Oy in Helsinki. Mr Mäkipere has been the Member of the Board at Finnish Port Operators Association since 2004 and currently he is the Chairman of the Board. Beside that he has been the Member of the Logistics Committee at the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) since 2006 and Member of Transport Committee at Turku Chamber of Commerce since 2003.

Dr ROLF NEISE is currently working as a freelance consultant at HPMLOG Project & Management Consultants GmbH supporting multinational companies to optimise their supply chain management and logistics structures and as a lecturer at the International School of Management (ISM). He has just written a book for a well-known international publisher on integrating container logistics into the shippers’ supply chain. It is the first book on the market looking at container logistics from a shipper’s perspective. Prior to that Mr Neise was working as the Global Head of Logistics Operations at BAT (British American Tobacco plc.), in charge of defining BAT’s Logistics Strategy in the End-to-End Supply Chain. Mr Neise wrote his doctoral thesis on transport logistics at the University of Stuttgart.

MARCO PALMU is a true professional in the travel and tourism industry with 30 years’ experience. Marco has worked for tour operators, travel agencies and several ferry lines, including Superfast and Tallink Silja. He joined Finnlines in September 2021 after being appointed as Head of Passenger Services. Marco has always worked in an international environment and is eager to face new challenges, one of which will be promotion of Finnlines’ coming Superstar ro-pax vessels. Marco is confident that the travel business will soon recover and seaway will be the best way to move from one place to another.

OLLI POHJANVIRTA, CEO & Chairman of the Board, Nurminen Logistics Oyj, and the founder of the financial and investment company Ruscap. Pohjanvirta has numerous board memberships in industry and service sectors both in Finland and Russia. He is also a member of a globally Premier Cultural Institute and Premier Football Club.

MARCUS PUFFER is currently heading the Loyalty and Customer Engagement business unit at IBS Software, a leading information technology provider specialising on mission critical solutions in the aviation, cruise and hospitality industries.
Before joining IBS, he was General Manager of topbonus, the Frequent Flyer Program of airberlin, then second largest airline in Germany. During his tenure at Star Alliance, the largest global airline alliance, he was responsible for developing and implementing an unprecedented growth strategy. Marcus Puffer holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Vienna and lives with his family in the city of Graz, Austria.

JYRKI RANKI has more than 25 years experience from Scandinavian forest industry and logistics. Mr Ranki started his logistics career already in 1993 as working for Metsä Fibre Pulp company as a Logistics Manager. His main task was to create and operated centralised maritime and port logistics solution and organisation for Metsä Group Pulp Industry. In 2009 he was appointed as a Vice President of Metsä Fibre Logistics. Since 2010 he has also been responsible for Metsä Group´s Scandinavian land transportations and port handling as a head of these operations. Since 2015 Mr Ranki has been working as the Head of Metsä Group Maritime Category. Mr Ranki has also other positions of trust, as he has also been a Chairman of the Board of Directors of two Finnish Stevedoring in Kemi and Kaskinen.

PATRIK RAUTAHEIMO is the CEO of Elomatic. Elomatic is an engineering and consulting company with over 1000 experts that focus on technical challenges related to ships, factories, and machines. He has extensive experience in engineering and has worked at Aker MTW Werft and Masa-Yards. Prior to joining Elomatic, he was Head of Engineering at the Turku Shipyard where he was responsible for the engineering of Viking Grace and Mein Schift 3. Today, he is also the Vice Chairman of the Finnish Maritime Industries Accociation and a member of the board at Napa, Naval Architecture Software, and CADMATIC. Rautaheimo did his doctoral disseration in area of Computational Fluid Dynamics in 2001.

IRENE ROSBERG is Director of the Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics (The Blue MBA) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Europe’s leading institution of its kind. From the beginning, she has been responsible for the design, development and co-ordination of The Blue MBA. On behalf of CBS, she has a fundamental role in building global relationships and networks within the maritime industry. From 2005 to 2009 Irene Rosberg was Director of the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) programme. Since 2013 she has been an evaluator for the Association of MBAs (AMBA), which is described as representing “the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education.” In 2014 joined the Board of Advisors for the Panama Maritime. Since 2017 she has been a member of an EU expert group for the motorways of the seas. At recent survey she achieved No. 1 place for the top 100 women in the shipping industry for 2020.

ILKKA RYTKÖLÄ is an innovative and inspiring naval architect working as Program Director in Meyer Turku Shipyard. Ilkka has worked with digitalisation, innovations, concept design and development of several products, systems and solutions. He holds a Master of Science (Naval Architecture) from the Aalto University and has over three decades of extensive experience from international and especially from Finnish marine industry. Ilkka is a member of the board of the Brahea Center by University of Turku and member of the research council of the Finnish Marine Industry association. His personal drivers are marine life and nature and he enjoys yachting and Formula windsurfing in the beautiful Turku archipelago. Ilkka is on a mission to predict the future by creating it

JUKKA SALMINEN is Sales Manager of Aker Arctic Technology Inc. He has joined the company 2017. He is Master Mariner and DP operator. He started his career at sea 1997 and since that he has served onboard several types of vessels, including Icebreakers, multipurpose icebreakers oil tankers, ferries, yachts, cruise ships and offshore supply vessels. Prior to joining Aker Arctic he worked as a chartering manager for Arctia Offshore Ltd.

KARI SILLANPÄÄ is an experienced maritime business professional with a comprehensive career in technology and business development, research cooperation, and management. He has worked with most of the major cruise and ferry companies developing ship concepts and operation into more attractive and sustainable direction. Cooperation with hundreds of technology suppliers, service providers, design offices, and universities has played an important role in his work, and this collaboration has in many ways improved the competitiveness, pioneering or environmental friendliness of the various parties. Kari works currently as a director of maritime and technology industry branches at the Turku Science Park Ltd. Turku Science Park is a non-profit regional business development company for the Turku and neighbouring cities, including business, education, research collaboration, networking, and internationalisation development.

ULF SIWE is the Communications Officer of the STM Validation Project at the Swedish Maritime Administration. He has a M.Sc. and a long experience from the IT industry. He joined the maritime world at the Swedish Maritime Administration in 2013 and has had leading roles within the Sea Traffic Management (STM) initiative since. He is currently project manager of STM BALT SAFE. Ulf is the author on several scientific papers on e-Navigation and IT-infrastructures, as well as an appreciated presenter at conferences.

ANDREAS SLOTTE (MBA) is the Head of Sustainable Development at the Pport of Helsinki, where he works with the port’s sustainable development strategy and activities. In addition, Andreas also chairs the SD-committee of the Finnish Port Association, and is a member of ESPO’s sustainable development committee and the Carbon Neutral Helsinki steering group.
Joining Port of Helsinki in 2013, Andreas worked in operations before assuming his current role. Andreas has an MBA from Aalto University, Helsinki, and is also a Master Mariner.

As VP, Global Sustainability at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, ROGER STREVENS engages with its diverse array of external sustainability stakeholders as well as its corporate functions with the same over-arching objective for all; to advance the sustainability agenda, while creating mutual value. His responsibilities range from representing the Group’s interests in maritime environmental policy, to driving sustainability collaborations with industry partners, customers and innovators. He works to build a ‘Lean:Green’ sustainability culture in the Group and contributes to ensuring financial stakeholders’ evolving sustainability interests are met, including in relation to ESG reporting.
Roger is the Chair of the Irish Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Ocean Exchange, a forum for acceleration sustainable innovation, a steering committee member of the Ship Recycling Transparency initiative and a member of the SASB Standards Advisory Group. Before starting his current role in 2017, Roger was VP of one the commercial divisions of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, having been VP, Environment for three years prior to that.

REKO-ANTTI SUOJANEN is a CEO of Aker Arctic Technology. He has a long term experience in the field of maritime business and developing and designing ships for the icebreaking and arctic use. He holds a Master’s degree from Naval Architecture from Helsinki Technical University (today Aalto University). During his career has been involved in numerous arctic shipping projects, and joined the Aker Arctic at the beginning of 2005, where he was responsible for managing arctic consultation services, coordinating research and development, and managing larger client projects. From year 2014 he has been leading Aker Arctic. His innovative nature and approach to find new solutions have resulted many new vessel concepts for the clients. He is also a member of Finnish Marine Industries board and other marine related positions of thrust.

NINNA SUOMINEN is currently working as Vice President of Marketing & Online Sales Nordic at Viking Line. She is responsible for online sales and marketing in all markets, in Finland and in Sweden. Before entering to the shipping sector, she has been working in several media agencies in different roles and with different kinds of clients, so she has a good and wide perspective of the marketing industry with more than 15 years of experience.

ERIK SÖDERHOLM is the CEO of the Port of Turku. He has a long career in managerial positions in both domestic and international logistics companies. Over the years, he has become familiar with land, sea, air, and rail transport. Education: Master of Economic Sciences (International Marketing).

ULLA TAPANINEN, Associate Professor Maritime Transport, Adjunct Professor PhD, has over 25 years’ experience in logistics and maritime transport research and development work. She received her PhD in 1997 in logistics modelling. She has worked for ten years as a development manager and environmental manager in a large Finnish roro-shipping company Finnlines Plc. Between 2006 – 2012 she worked as a professor of maritime logistics in the University of Turku specializing in maritime and port operations and their IT; and maritime safety. Thereafter she served as Senior Specialist and Head of Unit for City of Helsinki in port and cross-border transport development projects. She started as Associate Professor of Maritime Transport in Estonian Maritime Academy in Tallinn University of Technology in 2021, focusing on sustainable shipping.

TIINA TUURNALA is the CEO of the Finnish Shipowners’ Association as of 1 April 2017. She has over 20 year of experience from leading positions within transport sector. Tiina began her career with the Finnish Maritime Administration in the early 1990’s. Before joining Finnish Shipowners, Tiina served as Deputy Director General of the Finnish Transport Agency in charge of the traffic and Information Function. She was responsible for national traffic management, icebreaking services, nautical charts and hydrographic surveys and functions related to the development of digitisation, automatisation and intelligent traffic.
In 1998 she graduated with a MSc. (Engineering) from the Helsinki University of Technology majoring in geographic information technologies. Tiina has extensive experience with national and international representations.

TEEMU VAAHTERA is the Managing Director of the Port of Uusikaupunki. Before the current role he has worked in international logistics companies for 15 years. CHRISTIAN VELDHUIS has a master in Mechanical Engineering on propeller cavitation modeling and a PhD in Applied Physics on vortex dynamics in gas-water and solid-water flows. He has over 15 years of experience in research and management in the maritime sector. Since 2007 he works at MARIN in the field of ship propulsion. In 2010 he started a specialists group for high-end hydrodynamic simulation techniques. Since 2019 he leads the MARIN Zero Emission Shipping Research agenda; coupling hydro- and aerodynamics to power&energy system dynamics and design to develop the knowledge and methods to realize zero emission shipping. He is initiator and project leader of the MARIN Joint Industry Project ZERO, which started Q4 2020. A project with over 20 international participants and research partners joining forces to come to verified and validated future proof, clean and reliable ship power&energy system solutions.

BASTIAN WITT IS THE Head of Design & Engineering AT MEYER TURKU. At MEYER ship construction is about surpassing ourselves with every new ship. As Head of Design & Engineering, Bastian Witt, along with more than 1000 engineers and architects, is responsible for the work before the work. There's no such thing as 'can't do': the boundaries of what's possible are pushed further with every new ship. MEYER's focus is on decarbonisation and green shipping along with digitalization of shipbuilding and ship operations.
POUL WOODALL has more than 40 years experience in the maritime world with a particular interest in climate and environmental issues. He now has his own consulting company but has worked for Denmark’s two largest shipping organizations - Maersk and DFDS -for over 45 years combined. Educated as a Maersk management trainee, he has spent 17 years working aboard in Asia, Middle East and Europe. More recently he has been active on the shipping climate and environmental agenda working with -and for -a number of interests organizations including Danish Shipping, UK Chamber of Shipping and Interferry. On the marine policy front, Mr Woodall has represented shipping interests at IMO and EU, latter through the ESSF network for a number of years.
He is frequently used as expert speaker at industry conferences and is co-author of the book “Sustainable Shipping -a cross disciplinary view” Springer 2019.
