Panel Discussion in the AUDITORIUM
Short sea shipping as part of the green transition can contribute to reducing the environmental impact of freight transport, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the resilience of supply chains. However, it requires collaboration between governments, businesses, shipowners, ship designers and other stakeholders to overcome challenges and implement sustainable solutions effectively.
Overall, ETS regulations have significant implications for the shipping industry, influencing vessel design, operational practices, and stakeholder decision-making processes. While compliance can present challenges, it also creates opportunities for innovation and differentiation in a rapidly evolving market focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Maritime safety, security, cyber security on maritime, data and people
The maritime industry generates vast amounts of data from various sources, including sensors, satellite systems, and onboard systems. Effectively managing and analyzing this data can provide valuable insights for improving safety, security, and operational efficiency. The market for maritime data management and analytics solutions is expected to expand, driven by advancements in big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning technologies. These solutions enable maritime stakeholders to optimize vessel performance, predict maintenance needs, enhance route planning, and identify potential safety and security risks.
At the same time as the data conquers the industry, we need people to plan and design the processes and understand the relationships between the different players. We will talk about shortage of personnel as well, and how important it is to read the data right.

Offshore wind power or offshore wind energy is the generation of electricity through wind farms in bodies of water at sea. It is important that servicing ports are well prepared and other maintenance assets are also in place.
Offshore wind farms are also less controversial than those on land, as they have less impact on people and the landscape. There are higher wind speeds offshore than on land, so offshore farms generate more electricity per amount of capacity installed. Operation and maintenance costs typically represent 53% of operational expenditures, and 25% - 30% of the total lifecycle costs for offshore wind farms. O&Ms are considered one of the major barriers for further development of this resource.
